Review

Remember my last review on a Rich Amooi book? Am I allowed to just cut and paste it, is that fair? I mean come on, I still feel the same way about the man, he’s got some great insight into writing a damn good romcom. And yes, it does still astonish me that all this is coming from a guy.

The only problem is, my last review I said that “the apocalypse was near” because of said astonishment, and I feel that maybe now I may have had some insight of what was to come….. that maybe all this craziness in the world is really being brought on by Rich Amooi’s brilliant ability to write the best romcoms on earth? Ya think? Could that be it? There’ve been crazier theories!

Lori and Ben are both radio DJ’s, used to doing their own thing and their own shows, but when they are forced to work together as a duo with no other options, things get a little heated, and maybe not just behind the microphone. So here is your typical enemies to lovers trope, except that with Rich Amooi, things aren’t ever typical. Putting a man and woman who don’t get along, behind microphones and letting the zingers and snark fly on air is one radio show I need to tune into. With the constant “one upping” and banter, my cheeks hurt by the time I finished this book from laughing so hard. His ability to write the perfect one liners and comebacks is so astonishing, you almost find yourself jealous.

This book is so fun and the characters have such perfect chemistry, that you really do fly through this read rather quickly, not wanting it to end. It has everything the perfect romcom recipe calls for, and is truly another fantastic read by Rich, this one with tons of laughter which we all really need right now. I don’t know where he keeps coming up with these ideas, but keep them coming…..apocalypse be damned! Another 5 star read for sure!!
