About The Kindred Spirits Supper Club

Jobless and forced home to Wisconsin, journalist Sabrina Monroe can tolerate reunions with frenemies and kisses from old boyfriends, but not the literal ghosts that greet her in this heartwarming tale of the power of love and connection from acclaimed author Amy E. Reichert.

For Sabrina Monroe, moving back home to the Wisconsin Dells–the self-described Waterpark Capital of the World–means returning to the Monroe family curse: the women in her family can see spirits who come to them for help with unfinished business. But Sabrina’s always redirected the needy spirits to her mom, who’s much better suited for the job. The one exception has always been Molly, a bubbly rom-com loving ghost, who stuck by Sabrina’s side all through her lonely childhood.

Her personal life starts looking up when Ray, the new local restaurateur, invites Sabrina to his supper club, where he flirts with her over his famous Brandy Old-Fashioneds. He’s charming and handsome, but Sabrina tells herself she doesn’t have time for romance–she needs to focus on finding a job. Except the longer she’s in the Dells, the harder it is to resist her feelings for Ray. It doesn’t hurt that he shows his affection through good old-fashioned home-cooked suppers. And who can resist a guy obsessed with perfecting a Fried Cheese Curds recipe?

When the Dells starts to feel like home for the first time, Sabrina begins to realize that she can make a difference and help others wherever she is.

“The Kindred Spirits Supper Club is such a sweet, fun read. It’s warm, cozy and full of hometown charm—and there’s a brilliantly quirky cast of ghosts, too!”—Beth O’Leary, Sunday Timesbestselling author of The Switch

“Delicious, heart-warming, and a ghost who wears Chanel? Unsurprisingly, I found The Kindred Spirits Supper Club utterly unputdownable!”—Evie Dunmore, author of A Rogue of One’s Own

My thoughts

There’s no place like home to help get yourself back on track. Friends, family, and even the spirits that only you can see….yep, I said spirits – can be the perfect fix.

Sabrina is back home in the Wisconsin Dells. She lost her job and is low on funds, and is now stuck back home in her parents house until she can find new employment. It wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t for the spirits – the family curse – you see the women in her family can see spirits – and they come to them to get help with unfinished business. Sabrina usually sends them to her mom, but since she’s been back home, they seem determined to seek her out. The last thing Sabrina wants is to go back to her weird and awkward ways that people just don’t understand when she’s really just conversing with spirits. At least in the big city, people don’t seem to notice as much.

Then there is Ray, the new guy in town who has bought a local restaurant and seems to have an eye for Sabrina. Not really having any time for romance, she tries to avoid Ray, heaven forbid he finds out about the curse, let alone sees her talking to absolutely NO ONE. But she finds herself more and more attracted to him, oddly seeming to run into him everywhere. Wanting to focus on finding a job and hitting the road, Ray’s charming and kind presence in her life makes her consider the idea of dating again, grasp just how wonderful being back at home is, and realize how much of a difference she and her bumbling peculiarities can make in the world from right there in the Dells.

Quirky and laugh out loud fun, The Kindred Spirits Supper Club is the unconventional romcom you never thought you needed. Starting with a unique meet-cute and a story line just pushing towards the beloved friends to lovers outcome, Amy Reichert makes an anxiety ridden girl surrounded by talking spirits the most adorable heroine in the romance genre. There’s a dreamy guy, meddling family, an ex boyfriend, tons of awkward drama, and an unusual cast of secondary characters bringing a touch of mystery to an irresistibly scrumptious read. It’s the feel good book of the spring and sure to be a huge hit. Definitely my kind of book. Highly recommend.

I just would like to thank Amy E Reichert, Berkley Publishing and Netgalley for the gifted copy of this book for my unbiased and honest opinion for review.
