Anything dogs, you know it’s for me, so you know I HAD to read Zara Stoneley’s latest release.
The Dog Sitter is an adorable and fun read about Becky who really needs to get away from her life after being both fired AND dumped by an absolutely wretched boyfriend named Teddy. (Who frankly I’d like to punch after hearing the nasty things he said to Becky. But I digress…)
Before Teddy, Becky used to do a ton of house sitting, allowing her to travel and still work at her freelance job, so going back to that gig is the perfect thing for her right now. When the opportunity to take a job in the beautiful Lake District becomes available, you know she jumps at the chance. The best thing is that this job includes dog sitting duties, and Becky LOVES dogs but is unable to have one of her own because they are not allowed in her current apartment.
When Becky arrives at her fresh new gig, she had no idea she was going to run into the gorgeous hunk of a man Ash, but their first meeting doesn’t go so well because he is insisting that the dog she is watching is his own. Insert unexpected conflict/dilemma here. Little did she know her beautiful new set-up was not going to be the relaxing job she envisioned. Of course, to be expected, Becky and Ash develop a friendship, and you all can guess where this goes from there, even though Becky has insisted she is off men for now.
This book is an absolute fun and fast read that I couldn’t put down. I finished it in one sitting and was sad to say goodbye when I was done. It has everything needed for a feel-good read: jilted girl, beautiful escape, sexy hot guy, quirky drama, and an adorable dog named Bella with its own instagram account. What else do you need? This was certainly a delight to read, and Zara Stoneley has got another hit on her hands. Highly Recommend this one.
