The much anticipated sequel to What If? was released January 28, 2021 and it is everything the hype made it out to be.
WHAT NOW? continues the tale of Carly Cooper (but can be read as a stand alone) just 20 years later. After the epic search for her Mr. Right, she is now facing an empty nest of 2 teenage boys with a potential divorce in sight. Life is certainly very different than she expected after all this time, and she is questioning herself and “what now”? Carly sets off to Los Angeles again with her trusty band of girlfriends to try and find the girl she was 20 years ago. Is her marriage worth the effort or is there a new happy-ever-after just around the corner?
This sequel is just as fun, quirky and well written as I anticipated it to be. We find a 40 something pre-menopausal Carly on the brink of divorce with 2 teenage boys, and just trying to figure herself out AGAIN. I totally related to her experiences (both then and now) and had some laugh out loud moments along with her. Lucky enough to have a squad of friends who persuade her to go off to LA (again) to help her try and find her mojo (again) Carly and the girls give us one heck of a crazy ride. It’s nice to see the progression of her character as so many of us experience the same issues as we get older. This was everything I wanted it to be and more. You just have to read it to find out where Carly ends up.
I absolutely highly recommend this book and although it can be read as a stand alone, it will be so much more of an experience for you if you read the first book. Without a doubt 5 stars.
