Here is a little about the book:

What if you could go back in time and fix the biggest mistake of your life?

Two years ago, Maisie’s best friend walked out of her life and she hasn’t heard from him since. When she wakes up in 1994, she naturally assumes she’s dreaming. But when she finds herself in the past again the next night and her actions in the dream alter her present-day life, she begins to wonder if she’s somehow hopping back in time. And if she is time-travelling, can she save her friendship with Jonas?

When Maisie is forced to relive Christmases of the past, will she face up to her mistakes, or make them all over again?

The 12 Christmases of You & Me is a magical tale of friendship, first loves, and learning to live in the present.

Review

Think about your past. Is there anything you would go back and change? Would you like a do over? Maisie could possibly change some of her actions in the past to alter the way things turn out in the future. But will it cause a butterfly effect and change a whole lot more?
When Maisie is helping best friend Lily plan her wedding, she starts to become worried about what will happen when she sees their other friend Jonas, who she has not spoken to in 2 years after a falling- out. Thing is, Maisie has finally realized that she really is in love with Jonas, and has felt that way for years. Then Maisie starts having dreams about her past, Christmases of the past, and when she wakes up from these dreams things in the future have slightly changed. Maisie starts to realize that some of her actions in her dreams are changing things in the future when she awakens. Will she utilize this as a way to change her future with Jonas, or is it only in her dreams?

This is such a sweet holiday read. There is nothing like visiting past holidays in your dreams, a bit of nostalgia, spending time with family, and remembering fun times, unless some of those moments you unknowingly did something that affects your future forever. (I’ve had a few of those family holidays myself.) Watching Maisie face those situations again and re-evaluating her life was a lesson on our friendships, family and how we react to certain situations. It makes you look at your own life and appreciate that time changes everyone. This was a well written fun book that included time travel, which is not an easy task for an author. Jennifer Joyce gave the holiday romcom a little bit of pizzazz and wrote a delightful story about what-if’s. I loved this book and if you are looking for a unique twist on a Christmas romcom read, I highly recommend this one. A wonderful story.

Thank you so much to Jennifer Joyce, and Rachel Gilbey from Rachels Random Resources for my gifted copy of this book for my honest and unbiased opinion.
