This wonderful book was just released April 16, 2020 and is sure to be another of Maxine Morrey’s fabulous romcom hits.
Let me tell you a little about the book.
Lottie Wentworth has never been more pleased to hear Big Ben ring in the new year and wave goodbye to The Year of Saying Yes!
When a long-term relationship ended, her best friend’s scheme to get Lottie back in the swing of things seemed like a good idea. She’s kept her promise to Jess to see it through but, as a lover of the quiet life, Lottie couldn’t be happier to say hello to a brand new year – The Year of Saying No!
Unfortunately, the one thing she still seems unable to say no to is the crush she has on her best client and now friend, Army veteran, Seb Marshall. But she’s working on it, and with rescue dog Humphrey at her side, she knows that she’ll manage just fine.
Lottie’s decision to stop trying to please everyone has brought a sense of relief beyond what she had expected. Her actions and determination have also begun to send ripples throughout her life and those closest to her, bringing about changes none of them could have expected.
But will all those changes be for the good?

My thoughts on My Year of Saying No
I keep telling my husband we need to move to the UK. Just because all the good authors are British! No Kidding! It seems like every book I read from a UK author I absolutely love, and this one, my second from Maxine Morrey is right up there too. I need to get over there and get my hands on these books earlier than I am getting them here in the US.
If you are a romcom lover like me, this one is for you. It’s perfect. It has your friends- to -lovers relationship with two extremely lovable characters and a page-turner of a story line. I started this one and read right through to the end in one day. Morrey has a way with writing relationships that connects with you on almost every level, and puts a smile on your face in the end. Right now these are the kinds of books I need to be reading. This one certainly pulled me out of my coronavirus ‘stay at home’ depression. Ok, so it really just pulled me out of a reading slump, but the coronavirus thing really is depressing me. Nevertheless, I loved this one and give it 4 stars.
I highly recommend picking this one up, as well as grabbing some of Maxine’s other sweet novels too. Thank you to Maxine Morrey, Boldwood Books and Rachels Random Resources for my copy of this book for my honest and unbiased opinion.

I know the book sounds amazing, let me tell you just a little bit about Maxine Morrey and give you her links in case you would like to read more, contact her, or just see what she’s doing on social media.
Maxine has wanted to be a writer for as long as she can remember and wrote her first (very short) book for school when she was ten. Coming in first, she won a handful of book tokens – perfect for a bookworm!
As years went by, she continued to write, but ‘normal’ work often got in the way. She has written articles on a variety of subjects, aswell as a book on Brighton for a Local History publisher. However, novels are what she loves writing the most. After self publishing her first novel when a contract fell through, thanks to the recession, she continued to look for opportunities.
In August 2015, she won Harper Collins/Carina UK’s ‘Write Christmas’ competition with her romantic comedy, ‘Winter’s Fairytale’.
Maxine lives on the south coast of England, and when not wrangling with words loves to read sew and listen to podcasts. As she also likes cake she can also be found either walking or doing something vaguely physical at the gym.
Here’s the rest of the blog tour dates for this wonderful book if you’d like to follow along.
And remember… the best compliment you can give any author is to give them a good review! (Amazon, Goodreads and anywhere else)
Happy Reading!
