My review
Relationships are never easy that’s for sure, and nobody ever said we were going to go through life making all the right decisions all the time. I know when it comes to this aspect of my life all rational thinking seems to go out the window. It looks like Rochelle Weinstein has a pretty good idea of what that’s like too.
In a very small nutshell the story goes like this, Charlotte is engaged to Phillip, yet over time their relationship seems to be leaving her wanting for more. When she meets Ben and feels drawn to him, she ignores the pull but finds herself torn between the two men. Later on, as their worlds collide, Charlotte needs to evaluate her choices and decide which path she wants to take. Realizing that things could turn out very poorly even though her heart is in the right place.
You can’t possibly be mad at Charlotte one bit. As a woman we all have feelings and hormones that sometimes just get in the way. Although I may not agree with some of the decisions she made, it’s not my place to judge her, but maybe to try and understand why. Sometimes when it comes to the female psyche you really can never figure that out. Emotions are crazy things. Ask my husband, he will tell you first hand. Regardless, life happens.
What I CAN do is judge Rochelle Weinstein, and I’m going to do JUST that. Because really that’s why we are here. Rochelle’s writing is absolutely superb. This is one author who knows how to write a character that people can really relate to, I mean, really connect with down to the core of their emotions and feelings. I was amazed at how real this story felt, and how emotional it made me feel personally.
This is a difficult subject to write about. You may not agree with the subject matter, so don’t critique on the fact that you don’t like what’s happening in the storyline/plot. Critique the book on the overall writing, the message of the book, and the way it made you feel. For that I give Rochelle Weinstein 4 stars. She pulls you in, and takes you on an emotional roller coaster that may be nauseating at times, but thats just how life is. That is why this book is so good. And Rochelle put it on paper brilliantly. Bravo. Definitely go out and grab this one.
